A reminder about Whiskyfun's tasting week



A reminder to anyone interested in Japanese whisky that you really have to take a look at Whiskyfun's Japanese whisky tasting sessions. He has been posting since the Great East Japan Earthquake hit and it is a really powerful reminder of the vigour of the Japanese whisky industry at a time when most of the news coming out of Japan is doom and gloom.

Any news on the Nikka's Miyagikyo Distillery? Is it within the evacuation area?

Miyagikyo is not in the evacuation area and has not been seriously damaged in the quake. I got a message from Miake-san at the distillery and updated this post with it: http://nonjatta.blogspot.com/2011/03/earthquake-update.html
The distillery is well outside the current 20 and 30 km evacuation zones. It is about 110 km away.
